NYSUT #respectteachers Campaign
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you for participating in today's Action Alert. Although Governor Cuomo was reelected, teachers made an impact across New York State. Governor Cuomo did not win by a huge margin on Long Island, and some news outlets are projecting that he won less than the majority in our our communities. NYSUT has reported higher than normal teacher turnout for the vote, and Baldwin Teachers were a huge part of that. All day, you allowed us to take pictures and tweet them out as part of the NYSUT #respectteachers campaign. For more than 4 hours, we held the top 3 trending tweets in this hashtag, and we were retweeted by local, state, and national organizations.
Our work as advocates for public education is not done, and we need your help to continue to make our voice heard. If you have a friend or colleague who is not receiving our alerts, please encourage them to send their email addresses to us by updating their "pink forms", which they received in October. Your voice and your vote matters, and we thank you for being a part of our advocacy today!
